PetroChina Begins Construction Of Refinery In Ningxia Hui Region, China

PetroChina Company Limited (PetroChina) has started construction of a five-million ton per year refinery in northwestern Nin gxia Hui autonomous region of China, Xinhua News Agency reported. The refinery will complete its construction at the end of 2010. After completion, the project is estimated to produce annually, 1.73 million tons of gasoline, 2.38 million tons of diesel, 210,000 tons of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and 100,000 tons of polypropylene.
The total revenue of the refinery is to reach CNY15 billion per year at the time of completion.
The statistics with the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development (MHUD) show that PetroChina also intends to construct a 151-kilometer-long crude oil pipeline from Hui'anpu to Yinchuan, the capital city of Ningxia Hui autonomous region with a total investment of CNY703 million.
