Jacobs Engineering Receives Contract For New Thermal Oil Facility In Alberta, Canada

Published: 24-Nov-2009

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (Jacobs Engineering), a provider of technical, professional, and construction services, has received a contract from an oil and gas company for engineering of its thermal facility located near Lac la Biche, Alberta, Canada. The company will perform EDS and detailed engineering and procurement services for the 40,000 barrel-per-day in-situ oil sands central processing facility.

Engineering activities will begin in December 2009 with 40% or more of the engineering executed from Jacobs Engineering's Mumbai, India, office.

In making this announcement, Jacobs Group Vice President Chip Mitchell stated, "We have worked with oil producers to develop economically viable production facilities for more than 30 years, and in that time have completed in excess of 40 heavy oil recovery projects. This major project strengthens our position as a leader in the in-situ industry. We are thrilled to add this facility to our increasing portfolio."
