Iranian Gas Engineering and Development Company (IGEDC) intends to elevate its natural gas production by spending about $750 million in three gas refineries, Press TV reported. A total of $250 million will be invested in development of both phase two of the Ilam gas refinery, and phase three of the Shahid Hasheminejad gas refinery (Khangiran).
Alireza Gharibi, managing director of IGEDC, said that a total of 11.2 million cubic meters (mcm) per day will be added to Iran's production capacity on completion of the two plants.
He added that a new plant will also be established at the Parsian gas refinery, at cost of about $500 million, to produce ethane gas.
